Poodle Puppies working for a non profit assistance dog program. This program helps to pair service or assistance dogs with their disabled partner. These dogs save lives and create independence that has previously been denied to the individual. Assistance dogs perform tasks or a series of tasks to their partner who has a qualifying disability under the ADA. Some of the tasks performed are :
opening doors
retrieving dropped objects
pulling wheelchairs
performing brace work
medical alert
seizure alert
getting help

All dogs are certified under the PAT a national certification developed by the ADI and have been trained extensively for their individual partner. Service dog training typically takes anywhere from 18 months to 2 or more years depending upon the tasks needed by the partner, and costs approximately $13,000.00. No client is refused a service dog due to inability to pay. Fund raising and corporate sponsorships are welcome.
